How to find God
Often people ask this question, “How can I find God in life?” The Bible says that no one has ever seen God. So can we find Him? The answer is yes. Where and how we will try to figure it out in the article.
Where to seek God
Before we understand how to seek the Lord, let's think about where He can be found. What is His dwelling place like? Is it a temple or a church? The Bible clearly says that God does not live at any temporal location. If we come to the most beautiful and great temple, we will not find Him there. If we visit all the sacred places on earth, we will not find Him there too, because He does not live in man-made temples. And where can we seek Him?
“My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.” (John 7: 16-17)
This is what Jesus says. It means that a person who wants to meet the Father is to come to Jesus Christ. God sent Jesus to earth to redeem people from sins. And when Jesus ascended to heaven, the Holy Spirit came to earth and became a comforter and the best friend. When you pray, you can find God through fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
How to have fellowship with the Holy Spirit
If you are a Christian, the Holy Spirit already dwells in you. This Personality of the Divine Trinity is with you here and now. To speak to Him, you just need to say His name and start a dialogue with Him. Speak as a friend should speak. Talk to Him and tell Him how you feel, ask for advice or instruction.
Turn your fellowship with the Holy Spirit into your lifestyle. Don't limit Him to having only your morning quiet time. Allow Him to be a part of your life at any moment. It will lead you to being filled with His Spirit.
How to find God
A person can find God only through faith. When you pray, it is not important how many hours you do it, how loud you do it or if someone sees you or not. When you pray, it is important to believe. By faith we are filled with the Holy Spirit, by faith we receive answers to our prayer requests, by faith we receive miracles and get God’s manifestations. Faith is the only thing you need to please God.
As you build a relationship with the Holy Spirit, your life will more and more reflect God. How? You begin to reveal God’s moral qualities. They are listed in Galatians, chapter 5, verses 22-23.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
